Students Took an Excursion to the Historical Places of Baku

On October 28, 2026, students of group M106 of the Industrial and Technology College under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took an excursion to the historical places of Baku, accompanied by their group advisor, Sanubar Aliyeva.

The main purpose of the excursion was to broaden the students' knowledge about the rich historical and cultural heritage of our city and to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical observations.

As part of the excursion, students visited the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Ismailiyya Palace (currently housing the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences), the Palace of Happiness built by Baku oil millionaire Murtuza Mukhtarov, and the Museum of Miniature Books.

Organized in line with the topics included in the thematic-syllabus plan of the current semester, the excursion provided students with the opportunity to directly see the historical sites they studied in class and gain more detailed information about them.

During the excursion, students showed great interest in the architectural features and history of the cultural monuments. Additionally, foreign tourists at those sites expressing a desire to take souvenir photos with the students was one of the engaging highlights of the excursion.

Such educational excursions significantly contribute to broadening students' horizons, increasing their interest in our historical and cultural heritage, and ensuring a deeper comprehension of the knowledge gained during the educational process.
